CliffordPETTITAlnwick Peacefully in Cramlington hospital following a short illness on Friday 25th February aged 96 years Cliff, beloved husband of the late Lyn, much loved father of John, Hilary and Michael, loving grandfather and great grandfather. Please meet for service at St. Michael's Church, Alnwick on Monday 14th March at 12 noon, followed by private interment. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Salvation Army or Royal British Legion. Please no mourning clothes, gentleman jacket and tie.

Cliff Pettit was one of the most influential people in my life, giving me my first ‘proper’ job, setting me on my career path and supporting me in qualifying at a legal adviser in the Magistrates Courts. He was a hard task master but he commanded my respect and I will always be grateful to him.
